I just downloaded BOINC for my new computer and have been inactive for a few years. I am running the SETI tasks but they only ran for appr 7 mins and all I see now is a message: Paused: Other work running.

Any idea how I can fix this? Any help appreciated

Don't run other work (just kidding:-).

In your online computing preferences, there's one setting like

Suspend work if CPU usage is above   25 %
0 means no restriction
Enforced by version 6.10.30+

Either increase that value or set it to zero, which effectively switches this preference off.

I think there's a similar entry in your local (BOINC manager) preferences, but if you use these once, you'll have to set all your preferences locally, because the local settings override the online ones. (Or you can clear the local preferences to return to the online ones.)
