OK -- this has been an ongoing thing at RPI -- and I suspect this will continue with the current heat conditions that have moved back east.

Seems Seti has gone down yet again. |

Ironic that this Wed and Thurs were to be double credit days for MilkyWay@Home for "time lost earlier this summer due to outages". And the project has been down all Thursday, hope we get two more days of double credits. |

Aqua remains with no new work. I picked up 6 Aqua WUs from 1:33 am onwards this morning; 4 now completed, 2 still in progress. |

Aqua is running small batches of their single processor TEST application. At the moment, they don't anticipate running the significantly larger multi-core applications that they used to run.

Aqua is running small batches of their single processor TEST application. At the moment, they don't anticipate running the significantly larger multi-core applications that they used to run. Explains my confusion as I left for work this morning as I could see 2 WUs running and couldn't put my finger on what was different, it's been a while since I ran Aqua. I'm glad that all I said was that I had picked up some Aqua WUs and not concluded they were up and running again ;) |

SETI remains offline this morning (8AM PDT) -- Perhaps things will be reset as folks arrive on site this morning. MilkyWay also remains offline this morning (11AM EDT) -- as it is late morning back East, it is possible that with RPI selectively shutting down air conditioning due to the heat, and this coming up on the weekend, we may not see MW come back online until after the weekend. Just speculation there based on past 'heat' outages for MW. |

BOINC Message board for: ClimatePrediction.Net (AKA CPDN) seems to be up and running at this moment. |

Folks at SETI are back on site and are beginning to restart things -- home page is sort of up, server status is mostly RED -- as of 9:20 AM PDT CPDN has been relocating servers -- which means that as servers are relocated and restarted, there is a change in addressing which needs to propagate in DNS. Probably will be some time before things are fully up and running there though. Especially updating and exports for stats sites. |

MW still down. Friends outside of the MW program say there are widespread A/C failures all over campus. |

It seems Surveill@Home bit more off than they could chew. They're down. |

It seems Surveill@Home bit more off than they could chew. They're down. Ironic, really. Who will provide statistics on their downage? |

In old days that would've been Dynaping, but they bit the dust earlier. ;) |

Indeed -- based on previous A/C generated outages at RPI -- perhaps back for a recovery effort on Monday. Aqua is offline - as of this 4PM or so PDT Saturday. |

Aqua also remains unreachable (home page as well). Seems the server restart was a bit more complicated than at first thought. |

Milkyway is beginning to recover -- the feeder is still not running so work can not be reported as of 11:25AM EDT. Perhaps they will get things restored in time for the next Air conditioning inspired outage. Aqua remains unavailable -- in the past when they have an outage, it takes until mid/late morning during a work day PDT for something to happen. |

We are up and a portable A/C unit has been installed until the other is repaired. |

We are up and a portable A/C unit has been installed until the other is repaired. Or until it fails again, according to the 'LabstaffDowntime' page... " HVAC provided a portable AC which I reinstalled so it could be run with the door closed. The MRC networking will be left on, and the remote access machines are on along with a few research machines as long as the portable unit can handle the load. " |

It seems Surveill@Home bit more off than they could chew. They're down. Surveill is back, but may need a renewed master file read on your system (aka do an update if your back-off is large. ;-)) |
