When i sit down and start using my computer again... the boinc manager does stop the processing of the applications... but they stay resident in memory they do not always unload and free up the ram... and i have the boinc prefs unchecked "leave applications in memory while suspended"

any ideas?

They only unload once they have reached at least one checkpoint. Not all project's science applications do checkpoint.
