Hi, I've got a big hard drive that's partitioned into a smallish C: partition and a huge D: partition. BOINC seems to want to force its installation & the subsequent project data/executables onto the C: drive, with the inevitable result (when participating in CPDN) that my C: drive fills up & causes BOINC to start rejecting work. Does anybody know of a way to get BOINC to use an alternate directory for either the project data or "the whole enchilada"? I'm using the Windows version, obviously. Thanks for your help, Drew |

Stop BOINC from running. Uninstall BOINC. Move the whole BOINC folder (with all subdirectories included) to the other harddrive. (Do NOT Delete anything!) Reinstall BOINC. When at this screen: Press the Change button. When at this screen: Press the down arrow at the top, browse to your destination folder (thus the one you just moved Boinc to) and press OK. When at this screen: Check that you are pointing at the correct folder and press Next. You will now install Boinc to that folder on that drive. |

Ageless, Thanks very much--I didn't think it would be so easy to do, but that definitely did the trick. I would have preferred to have a setting within BOINC Manager to point it at a different data directory (I like to keep apps & data segregated), but this will do just fine. Thanks again, Drew |
