I am ticked off by this... In WCG it paused a Help Conquer Cancer workunit at 99.8% to work on another project... I have my Switch between option set to 120 minutes... But this really annoys me.... please tell me how to workaround this..

The workaround is not to look constantly in BOINC Manager to see what it's doing, but instead to let BOINC do its job and only check the outcome on the web sites every so often to check if you're not returning erroneous work.

Really, just letting BOINC do its work without checking up on it every 10 minutes to every 6 hours (or whatever timeline you give to it) is way easier and won't irritate you. There's plenty of other things to worry about or that need your attention than this quite minor thing.

As long as BOINC returns ALL work in cache on time, before the various deadlines that is, there is nothing to worry about or in need for a workaround.

As Ageless says, don't worry about it. Percentage of completion and estimated time to completion are just that... estimates. Boinc doesn't look at this before switching because some projects have a lot of work to do in the last few percentages. It could be minutes or hours. In the case of CPDN long WU, for example, it could be days. I've seen WU paused at 100%. As long as the work gets completed properly there is no problem and nothing to fret about.
