I have configured some PC's with BOINC active during the whole day but opening the internet connection unregularly and for a short period (max 1 or 2h).

The project scheduler tries to connect and when failed make a reschedule. The problem is that it always increases the time between connections and after a time I need to be very lucky to have the attempt when internet connection is opened. Result is that completed work is not reported.

Is there a workaround to fix the connection attempts every 5 min for ex. ?

There is an expotential back off to keep hosts from hammering the servers during and after a server outage. You can get around this by manually updating the project. Go to the projects tab, point the mouse at the project in question and highlight it by left clicking the mouse on it (right hand box), then click the "update" button on the left.
