Why can't Boinc make a .deb file for the last 3 edition of the boinc client. Many new converts to linux find it hard to decide which is there best choice, most use ubuntu, and if they use the synaptic or any such program they always end up getting the latest edition of boinc even if it is a testing edition. I was doing great with Karmic until I upgraded and boinc 6.10.17 pop in my system, now I can only use one core, no matter what I do, the pc only use one core. And it is very hard for a newby to choose other version outside the system they are using. You want more pc working, make it easier to get the version we need, Thanks. ![]() |

BOINC doesn't add the versions to the synaptic package manager in Linux, that's done by the package managers. But even with it being in there, you can always use the Berkeley installer to update to the latest version available, recommended or not. So go on then, try 6.10.56 and if you need help installing it, there's a Wiki at your disposal. :-) 6.10.17 was one of the last recommended versions. |
