When I want to go to a project's page/account/(whatever's available on the left in Manager) Konqueror opens whilst the default browser is (supposed to be) set to Firefox. Where does BOINC look to determine which browser it's supposed to use? |

a) Your url leads straight back here. b) If you meant to lead me to How to set your default browser in Linux that pertains to when there's NO browser opening. I've got the wrong one opening. Anyway, adding those lines to /etc/profiles didn't do a thing, as I suspected, so I had to resort to removing Konqueror from my setup and since the system no longer has the option of opening anything in Konqueror it now opens in Firefox. |

Still, BOINC doesn't open browsers by itself. It follows what your OS thinks is the default browser. This isn't necessarily what your browsers think is the default browser, you will always have to check with the OS itself. |

Sorry, my mistake. Bad copy'n'paste. |

I just started using BOINC and have the same problem copycat did. Firefox is set as my default browser (confirmed under Firefox and under Xubuntu's Preferred Applications menu), but BOINC opens Opera as the browser when I click any links from within the manager. It also doesn't actually open the links; Opera opens with the same links as last time, but no BOINC pages. However, I sort of fixed this by creating a script: #/bin/bash cd /usr/bin/ export BROWSER=/usr/bin/firefox ./boincmgr Running it that way, Firefox gets used as the browser. |
