Please pardon my ignorance, but I'm not a hardcore Linux user. I downloaded 6.10.56 to run on Knoppix 6.2.1 and when trying to "attach" to a project, I hit a segmentation fault. I could get to the "attach to a manager" screen but not the project screen. I thought it might be my configuration, but I was able to install the older 6.6 client and it's working fine. |

Thanks for the link, but that appears to be different. It sounds like they were actually able to do some work. I can't even get that far. Also the stack trace of the fault was different. |

Also the stack trace of the fault was different. So why don't you post the stack trace you have then? Or any other errors you might have in the stderrdae (and stderrgui) file? How else should this be debugged? |

Well, I would suggest that someone with more *IX experience give the 6.2.1 Knoppix CD a try and proceed to debug it. If it doesn't reproduce then ignore the report. |

I'm not sure if my post is relevant to the prior error or not. I'm now getting a segfault running boincmgr under kde4, using Mandriva linux 2010.0 It was working up until yesterday. Since then, I installed adobeair, and then uninstalled it. I also installed a newer version of opera beta. Neither of which should affect boincmgr. The boinc command itself works ok. Running boincmgr under Gnome works, it's only under kde4 that it's failing. I ran boincmgr under strace with kde4, where it segfaults http://www.ody.ca/~dwhodgins/strace.kde.txt and under gnome, where it works http://www.ody.ca/~dwhodgins/strace.gnome.txt Htop shows 400MB of 2024MB ram used, with 0 of 3067MB swap in use. |
