First of all, I'm new to all this. I have downloaded the BOINC software. I am trying to create an account for Seti@home and attach to the project. It fails to attach every time. What am I doing wrong? I did a search for username 'gregdalva' on the Seti user base and found one account. It appears that you were successful in attaching and downloading a WU at 12 Feb 2006 3:14:03 UTC. If this is you, your Work tab should show a Seti WU 18dc03ab.9494.21010.204836.1.132 Please confirm. BTW The Boinc and Seti projects are separate data base. Using Seti Questions/problems Message board would make it easier to get help in the future. I could have just click on your name and be sure I was seeing the correct account. There are many volunteer keeping an eye on that board that are eager to help with any problems. Ditto here, same problem, about 11,000 hrs on the old seti program, have the boinc installed, and tried to add in the seti to the boinc, and it keeps asking for something i have no idea what it is talking about, nor do I want to know what it is talking about, I just want to add in the seti software and continue helping with the analysis of the data, as I have in the past. The boinc keeps popping up a panel asking for something called "proxy settings", and I have no idea what that is or what it does, nor do I want to know. Is there some way anyone can help me get this seti software attached, installed, or whatever it does, so I can again get back to what i was doing with seti???? I tried also, last year when the boinc software first was announced, going thru a procedure where I was given some way to "transfer" over from my old seti account, which included an account number that was emailed to me that would somehow transfer me over with credit for the hours i had worked earlier. When I tred to attach to the project setiathome in boinc, transferring my old classic account over using the data that was emailed to me, I got the error message that the account is not found, so I have not been able to transfer over from the old classic account to a new boinc account. That was some time ago. old name: LooseFethr old email address: [email protected] old password: 50429112 This email address no longer functions Now I'm just trying to get seti running again, any ol way I can, but I sure don't know anything about any proxy information, that it keeps asking me for, and as I said, I am not really interested in learning about it, it just seems to keep getting more and more complicated. What's up with that? I thought computers were supposed to make our lives easier? Sure doesn't seem that way. I saw the link below to the Seti Questions/problems Message board, i will try there, but i am very limited on available time to try to search this out. This is it for today. |

At the time you posted this Seti was down. It will be offline for at leat 3 hours for maintenance. Also, there was a major power disruption at Berkley ealier which had a negative effect on the Seti project. It may take another 24 hours before the servers are going to be able to handle the backlog trafic of users trying to access the system. Boinc V 7.4.36 Win7 i5 3.33G 4GB NVidia 470 |
