OK guys.... I'm running a 2009 MacBookPro (9400M and 9600M GT GPUs), running 10.6.2 (booted in 32 bits mode), CUDA 2.3.1a drivers and 2.3a toolkit. I created all links, cc_config.xml files or whatsoever tricks you may find on forums. I have tried all versions of BOINC, and now running 6.10.36. Guess what "No usable GPU".... How can that be ???? help !!! |

I did a bit more logging, here is what I get : NVIDIA drivers present but no GPUs found No usable GPUs found |

I installed CUDA 3.01-beta, still no GPU seen. The issue seems to be with the CUDA installation, though it does not exhibit any error. I will try to recompile and keep you posted. |

Does BOINC have appropriate rights in /dev ? Gruß, Gundolf |

Well, there is no nv* device created in /dev on MacOS X. There was an issue with the CUDA 3.01beta installer which had not replaced the Kernel Extension. I did it manually, still no change. .... This is a CUDA issue for sure, just can't find how to solve it. |

My Mac Pro with 8800 installed boots up and auto launches BOINC. When I upgraded to .36 and finally got the CUDA working (ya!) I noticed that the first launch after a reboot it won't see the GPU, but if I just quit, wait a few seconds and relaunch it, then BOINC will see it. 10.6.2. My machine |

I have a MacPro with a gtx 285 that I bought only for Boinc. So far, I still get the No usable GPUs found message. Update boinc to 6.10.43, no more luck. I installed CUDA 3.0Beta, same result. Create a cc_config.xml file with <use_all_gpus>1</use_all_gpus> option - no luck. any help would be appreciated. |

Thank you, I started with 32 bits kernel and now the GPU is "found", right now I use CUDA 3.0 - should I go back to 2.3 ? if I understand correctly, project that support GPU on Mac are, GPUGrid Einstein@Home Milkyway@Home Collatz Conjecture I will attach to all of them and see. |
