Problem started -winxp pro- when I suspended a project. A second one immediately was downloaded and started and then another and another until I have 2 versions of each project time sharing. They seem to be chugging along, but finishing both client projects is problamatic.

Any suggestions - Thanks LouB

CPDn work is usually issued with a one year deadlin. So, that should not be a problem on a reasonably fast machine. Otherwise. just abort one ... the sooner the better. I usually set CPDN to no new work just in case.

There have been some issues in recent times with CPDN downloads mostly because we are just now really getting a handle on the issues with a wide variety of work unit sizes, deadlines, etc.

The good news is that we ARE making progress and the BOINC Client Software is getting smarter all of the time.

If you suspend on the "Work" tab, you are only suspending that work unit and Boinc Manager will still think you want to run that project and go and fetch more work for you. Seti, for example, will generally download 4 or 5 work units at a time for me. It will work on the earliest deadline WU first and fetch more when I get down to the last 2. If you want to really suspend all work on a project, perhaps to force Boinc to concentrate on another project for a while, you have to go to the "Projects" tab. As long as the deadlines are suffciently far ahead, there should be no problem just letting Boinc control the work done itself. Even if a WU's deadline is approaching, Boinc is clever enough to concentrate solely on that WU. I currently have 5 active projects and just let Boinc swap between them as it sees fit, according to the Preferences I have set on each project's site.

Hope this was of help.
