Ever since I downloaded the new BOINC program, about three months (?) ago, my computer "freezes" after a period of inactivity (usually overnight), and I have to hard boot. I suspect it has something to do with the communication between the power-saver settings and BOINC. It doesn't always happen overnight but it DOES also happen during the day, when I'm not operating in the foreground for an extended period (I'm not sure how long that period is--sometimes it freezes two or three times a day). PLEASE help...I don't want to have to disconnect from BOINC entirely, but I'm tired of rebooting almost almost every morning and, not infrequently, also during the day. |

I suspect it has something to do with the... power-saver setting What about disabling the power-saver settings to see if the problem goes away? |

You might also try disabling the screensaver if you use it. It might be a video driver hang up. tony |
