Copy of post`s on Rosetta board...need help here guys !

Now Nite Owl has asked for tech help in here, little has been given. He`s got 40 machines and we as a team don`t want to lose him, I`m not beyond creating havoc in order to get help with a problem but I`m asking nicely atm.... What is error 400 someone created this...someone must know.....

His latest post with the addendum he`s thinking of quitting DC, so come on techies

Still trying to troubleshoot the upload problem.... Re-installed the BOINC manager - zilch upload.... Moved the entire BOINC folder to another puter using a stick drive. Executed BOINC with the same outcome - zilch uploads!

He`s on WLAN with Satellite Broadband East Coast USA....

I'd say, wait for a reply from the Rosetta boffins, in your thread there, first.

The log he's giving isn't exactly useful. It only shows that his uploads fail and that they are backing off. If anything, we need much more info about the PC that's doing this, if it has done so in the past and if his other PCs are showing the same behaviour.

If they don't... check network card, network cable or changes to the network or internet connection first.

So is error 400 a BOINC code ? A Rosetta ? as it`s logged in the file someone ought to know...shouldn`t they ?

The basic message is described in the Wiki, the error code 400.

I just added more, but, fundamentally, the problem is a networking issue. As I said over in the Rosetta@Home forums, I am not a super networking type, but, problems with firewalls, routers, etc. can all play a part.

There are some networking troubleshooting tips in the Wiki "How-To" to see if you can find some more information about what is happening ... but, what it looks like to me is a truncated session.
