Yes. Shut down BOINC and re-start it. :)

I don't think so I seen it go up 3000+ and more.

According to client_msgs.cpp the core client stores 2,000 message lines at max, before deleting older messages.

I just counted 2023 lines in BOINC 5.10.45 (in fact, msword counted :-)

Believe me it can. The BOINC Client can transfer up to a max of 2000.
But that doesn't mean the Manager can't hold a much larger number.
And if you see more than 2000, the manager is storing the rest. Closing down the manager only and you will get the 2000 back instead of the 2023.
In my BoincTasks project I've done some testing.... BoincTasks can also hold much more that the 2000. And on some computers I get 4000+

This is a way slower computer with a copy from BoincTasks, I checked, BOINC Manager has the exact same number, but less easy to count.
