After installing Boinc 6.6.41 on Centos 5.2, I receive the following error "/opt/boinc/bin/boinc: cannot execute binary file". I verified the permissions (755) and the ownership (boinc:boinc on my system). Version 6.6.37 is installed on this system and works fine.

One glaring difference I see is the name of the package downloaded. On 6.6.37 and previous I downloaded boinc_6.6.37_i686-pc-linux-gnu.sh and the new download that came down is boinc_6.6.41_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu.sh. I went into the boinc download directory structure in an attempt to find a checksum file but instead found boinc_6.6.41_i686-pc-linux-gnu.sh available.

boinc_6.6.41_i686-pc-linux-gnu.sh was subsequently downloaded, installed, and runs fine under CentOS 5.2 (32 bit). The bottom line is that the website is not causing the correct file to download. The browser involved is Firefox 3.0.14 (rpm installed).

Thanks, Tim
