Is BOINC suitable to be used for projects without end? While most of the projects have a start and an end, some require constant updating and maintenance.

I had an idea to use BOINC to write some search-engine crawling and indexing (as the core computation); assuming I have access to the network API, this project would never end, since the index needs to be constantly updated.

for some yes, like seti, it may be endless!

LHC is going to be a long-term project if i'm not mistaken.
