More so, what exactly is the message? When do you get it? Is it explicitly when you start up BOINC Manager at boot time, or at all times? Is UAC on? And is this with a release candidate of Windows 7, or a full version? |

Rather than start a new thread, thought it appropriate to post here. Have had boinc running successfully on Win7 RC since it's release. however, on several occassions yesterday, kept getting the following & tried boinc repair, no joy, so uninstalled, reinstalled & it looked ok until now..Any ideas please? Found solution, but have no idea as to what caused the change in settings, as no programs added or changed since Boinc originally installed. Right-clicked on boinc Manager in Start Menu, selcted properties & checked permissions. Re-applied "Run as administrator" & boinc back to normal. Only probable answer I can come up with is a "dreaded" Win Update. |

Thanks ZPM. It was the OP that made me think of permissions. I still haven't found what caused the settings to change as it ran ok from day 1. Got be be MS & their dreaded updates.............can't blame them as it is only an RC :) |
