I am running an Athlon 64 X2 6000+ system with 4GB of memory; a NVIDIA 8400GS video card; and 64-bit Windows Vista Ultimate. I am tired of my computer restarting because the CUDA tasks keep crashing the video card. I have installed the latest version of BOINC and updated my video driver about every week for months and it still keeps crashing. Since there is no way to keep CUDA tasks from running on my system I am disabling BOINC for at least 3 months. Maybe I'll give it another try then. I just thought I should let somebody know. Why don't you add a check box on the preferences page to allow you to disable CUDA tasks, at least until they're debugged better. Thank you. |

You'll have to look on the project preference pages for that checkbox. It is there. Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. (Kleiner Scherz) ![]() |

also, you fan for your gpu may not be running fast enough to keep the temperature down. if you have a program to watch gpu temp like evga precision, you can adjust the fan speed(unless the card is pci"IME"). |
