I've been running various projects under BOINC for years on a single (now getting elderly) PC.

I have recently built a new one and "cloned" the old hard drive onto a new drive for the new PC.

The intention, however, is to continue to use the old PC as well. Do I need to do anything to my account details or the like to take this change on board?

(Not sure if it matters, but both PCs will have the same "name" even though their hardware is entirely different). Many thanks.

Don't clone the BOINC Data directory. The old PC is registered to the project(s) you're attached to with its name and hostID number. If you then use that same name and hostID number on a second computer, either may not get work.

So make sure to install BOINC clean on the new PC, you can copy over the account_*.xml file(s) from the old BOINC Data directory to the new one.

Thanks for that advice. I followed what you said and the new PC (which I did have to rename for network reasons) is now listed, together with all my previous results.

One additional question however. Having copied the account_*.xml files to the new PC, do I need to delete them on the old one? (I still intend to run the same projects on both PCs).

No, don't delete them! The copying of those files spared you the trouble of attaching to those projects. They don't contain anything computer specific.
