Just after 5 years of agony it's time to make a change! When I first installed BOINC on my computers and changed the GUI language to german, it hit me like a fist right in the face! The german translation of "downloading" and "uploading" was "AM HERUNTERLADEN" and "AM HOCHLADEN"!!! So the first thing I did was to start my HEX-Editor and search for this rape of the german language and terminate it by some key strokes. But after all this years of pain and agony, I think it's time to raise my voice to have it changed as soon as possible. This is such a bad translation that it really hurts you to the bone. So please, please, please change the german translation of "downloading" from "AM HERUNTERLADEN" (autsch) to "HERUNTERLADEND" and "uploading" from "AM HOCHLADEN" (autsch again!) to "HOCHLADEND". Because I think that the BOINC platform is to be used by reasonably intelligent people, I think it's not asked too much to use the right translations. If this is the wrong forum for localization issues, please move it to the right one! Thank you! |

Schade. Gruß von einem Landsmann |

Think we need to change it then to hochparterren and runterparterren. Good one ;-) Some germans have no sense of humor or exaggeration, especially the new ones! |
