Make sure you check your general preferences. On the project->your account->computing preferences->"Suspend GPU work while computer is in use?" .. set it to No. If you're using the local preferences: BOINC Manager->Advanced view->Advanced->Preferences->Processor usage->Check "Use GPU while computer is in use." |

Make sure you don't use the local preferences as they will override the web preferences. Best go BOINC Manager->Advanced view->Advanced->Preferences->click Clear. And don't forget to update your project after you changed preferences online, or else BOINC won't know about it. |

I'm suffering a similar problem - since upgrading to 6.6.28 periodically a task will clock up elapsed time, but not make any progress. If I notice this (i.e. I'm near the PC) I can overcome the situation by suspending that task, and as each of the new tasks start suspend them all. Then do an "update", release the frozen task, do another update, and the frozen task will start advancing smoothly. If I don't catch it then sometime later another task, on the other core will do the same, and all that's happening is I'm clocking up elapsed time to no benefit. Obviously this is "not right". PC is an HP - AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ [x86 Family 15 Model 35 Stepping 2] (2 processors), with 3Gb memory, running Windows XP Pro, service pack 3. A second dual core PC (still on 6.6.20) nearby just plods on, tasks running smoothly on both cores. |

Similar issue with 6.6.28 and GPUGRID, backed out to 6.6.20 and no issues. AMD Phenom X4, + 9800GTX and 9400GT CUDA cards. Rob.B |
