I've just upgraded Boinc to 6.6.20 (from a v5??) and I notice the work getting process keeps connecting to get more work. (agressively i might add)
I have network activity preferences set for time of day so it doesn't connect during the day, if i toggle this to "Activity - network alwys available" It gets more work, EVERY TIME.
Ditto if I snooze boinc from the taskbar, when I unsnooze, it connects for more work. This behaviour is a change since the old version and I am quite prepared to see if it is configurational but its never done this before.
I have win 2k server (sp4 fully patched) which asks for work in both these scenarios, with another XP SP3 that only asks when toggling the network activity.
And No, it hasn't processed a full WU in the time between me snoozing and unsnoozing (I have it set for 6 hr run times per Work Unit (WU)). At this rate I'll have a drive full of WU's (Rosetta).
Any (polite) sugestions will be welcomed.
Thanks

The way that BOINC 6.6 will calculate the amount of work it needs is completely different from any version before. Not only does it have a whole new CPU scheduler and work fetch module, but it also fixes a long standing bug in the round robin simulation which would not allow BOINC to fetch the amount of work you set in your preferences.
