When the boinc manager is uninstalled, it seems to retain status information and during a re-install it remembers your previous data directory and finds your previous work units. Where is this information stored? I’m asking for two reasons. I’m running 6.6.20 and I think something is slightly mucked up in the setup. seti@home jobs have been finishing with messages like (paraphrased) “the job finished, but zero bytes of result data was found”. I think a fresh install may help this. And, during the re-installation a large group of files are left ‘locked’ so that I can not modify their privileges. The lock appears to be because they are currently being accessed (even prior to starting boinc manager). Thanks! |

I found the entry, but it also seemed to work to just delete the executable directory too. Everything is re-installed and back up running now. Thanks! |
