I have BOINC running with Seti and Einstein on a four-year old computer and the screensaver works perfectly for both apps. I just setup a brand new Dell computer with Win XP Pro. I downloaded BOINC with the same apps on the new computer with BOINC as the screensaver. My account settings show both computers running the apps. The screensaver appears when I preview or when I show graphics. However, when the screensave activates, I get only a black screen. Any ideas on how to get the screensaver to work on my brand new computer? |

Identical problem with a Win XP Pro system. I have not found a solution as of this date. sherri & Thomas, Your new machines may need to have driver updates for their display adaptors (graphics cards or board-embedded graphics). ATI and nVidia update their drivers monthly, and for newer cards, especially, the changes can be quite significant. I put up a thread on the Einstein board. Just ignore the Einstein-specific portion. edit - out-of-date ATI drivers need to be uninstalled using their uninatall tool before installing the new set. Hope this is of help Michael "The arc of history is long, but it bends toward Justice" |
