When I installed Boinc in an administrative account on XPSP3, I came across a box to allow all users to control boinc. I made sure that was checked. After the installation completed I logged in to an underprivileged account, but the Manager would not load. When I use the "run as" option to use that limited account, I get a "windows cannot find that" error. So, what do I need to change? |

This is a huge irritation. This problem has existed since at least early March '09. While there has been some discussion of it, and some user suggested work arounds, none of the gods seem to have noted the problem or to have posted a simple detailed understandable authoritative fix. The last version of Boinc that does not have this problem, that I know of, seems to be 6.2.19 (from around Oct '08). That seems to be what we are stuck with using. This on WinXP home SP3. |

Could you try 6.6.23 from the download page? Since at the time of writing it isn't there yet, best try here for 32bit Windows and here for 64bit Windows. |

I've just downloaded 6.6.23, and am happy to report that this problem seems to be fixed. I rebooted after the install, tried Admin and non-privileged user account, and I seem able to control Boinc from both. This under WinXP home SP3. Good job. |
