Thread 'boinc.berkeley.edu home page blank??'

On one of my computers (Win XP, IE7), I cannot view the BOINC homepage. It simply loads as a blank page (except for the title and BOINC icon in the IE tab-- those load correctly). If I try to view the source code, all I get is this: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=utf-8"></HEAD> <BODY></BODY></HTML> This happens only on this computer, and regardless of the manner in which I try to load the page (bookmark, directly typing URL, clicking a link from another website). I can, however, load any other page on the BOINC website by typing its URL directly (that's how I got to this message board)-- just not the homepage. I realize this is a bug on my end, but I'd appreciate some help from someone. ID: 23902 ·

I have done all the standard things: clearing cache/temporary files/cookies; adding boinc to trusted list; adding it to router's trusted list; rebooting; etc. I am not going to try another browser for various reasons. So it would seem you are not getting the valid page, but rather something from somewhere else. Is your anti-virus/anti-phishing/advert-scrubbing software intercepting the page, or is a browser add-on (toolbar?) perhaps causing this? Sometimes the server can be just too busy to respond before the browser hits its timeout. Usually the browser will display that as an error page, but if it's going through something else, then it's possible the browser may just show a blank page. I have the same problem too! On all computers (3) and with all the browsers (IE and Firefox)!! I can't even download the new versions of BOINC!!! What's happening? We can't access just the home page and the downloads page. All the rest is accessible, like the forum (obviously), the direct download section, http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/ If it would be a ip range block this won't be accessible... I visited yesterday (19 hours ago) with FF3.5b4 and it was fine. Viewing source shows nothing at all... Correction: Viewing source in FF3.5b4 shows nothing.
