I admit that I haven't read older threads, and I am using an old BOINC CC, but when I installed IE 8 last night the buttons in the manager to take you to project web sites or to your account options no longer functioned. It would launch the web browser, but IE 8 would just sit there and the whole system seemed sluggish. I just now uninstalled IE 8, thus reverting back to IE 7, and the buttons in the manager are working again... Windows XP Pro SP3, BOINC 5.8.16 Brian |

Did you set IE8 to be as your default browser in Windows? (Not just in the browser, but also in Windows) |

Did you set IE8 to be as your default browser in Windows? (Not just in the browser, but also in Windows) Not explicitly this time, but previously it was launching IE7 and working just fine. Install IE8. Hit button. IE8 launches, but doesn't do anything. Uninstall IE8 (reverts to IE7), works again. Firefox is installed on that machine, but I'm almost positive that IE is the default. |

I did Ageless's answer to this, as I was having the same problems. It worked! If you are already using a custom setting, just click on one of the other choices, then back to Custom to access the various options in this section. Make sure Internet Explorer is selected (versus "the current browser") and click OK. And voila! |
