I have been running boinc for many years now. I saw a few months ago that there was a way to secure the mac boinc client, so i followed the instructions, and all went well. HOWEVER, I have spent the last week trying to upgrade my boinc to no avail. I cannot seem to upgrade my installation, so uninstalled it, despite this if i now re-install i still cannot run the new version, I get a message saying the daemon cannot be started. i have tried cleaning up as much as i know to do, using tools like onyx etc.. but I don't know enough to fix this issue. the only way i can start it manually is to use the --insecure command, then it runs, but this is obviously not good and I dont want to have to run boinc from the terminal everytime i start my machine. please help, I've lost a week of crunching already :-( |

I saw a few months ago that there was a way to secure the mac boinc client, so i followed the instructions, and all went well. I asked the developer for help, he's stuck at the above sentence. What did you follow? If you can find that out and put a link to it here, we may be able to help you backtrack. |
