I get this message after a couple of days on a 24/7 machine on Windows XP. BOINC 6.2.19.

Toegang geweigerd = access denied.

The tasks continue to run ok.

This might be a permissions problem, or something else is taking up the client_state.xml file. Make sure no anti virus or other anti-malware programs actively check your BOINC Data directory while BOINC is running.

Don't think so. The BOINC files are excluded from scanning and I saw the problem on other computer as well but not as frequent as this one. The problem may have to do with the fact that the computer is slow and quite busy at times with drive access. So a timing problem? Anybody seen this before?

It then says:"Can't write state file, exiting in 10 seconds."

I'm guessing that something corrupted a file. So, I'm wondering if I need to reinstall one thing or do a complete reinstall to fix this problem?

First, you should do a chkdsk/f (right click on C:, properties, extras (tools? I have German explorer; second tab)), to repair your file system.
