Hi,
Using Boinc Manager version 6.2.19
Unless I missed it, there doesn't appear to be an option for allowing processing based on some time after the screensaver launches.

The problem is I have to keep track of two settings to answer one question:
Question 1. How long until I allow other CPU hogs to run in the background?
setting a. How long until my screensaver starts (OS desktop setting)?
setting b. How long until Boinc Manager will start processing?

All I want to allow is the Boinc Client to run while I'm not interacting with my computer. And my screensaver is generally how I enforce this. This would eliminate management of setting b.
I only want to maintain one timer for Boinc (and other CPU hogging services; the screensaver timer). I suggest adding an option to have Boinc get signaled when the screensaver starts and wait X minutes after that signal to start processing.

I suggest adding an option to have Boinc get signaled when the screensaver starts and wait X minutes after that signal to start processing.

In your preferences, be it those on the project web site, or the local advanced preferences, set "'In use' means mouse/keyboard activity in last x.x minutes" to a number that adds 1 minute to the time you tell the screen saver to start running.

The screen saver time out can be set through Windows desktop properties->Screensaver->choose BOINC->Setup.

What this will do is start the BOINC screen saver at a certain time (say 3 minutes after you went idle), this will bring up the bouncing BOINC logo. 1 minute after that BOINC will start processing any of the projects you are attached to. If this happens to be a project that has its own screen saver, that screen saver will kick in after a minute or so.

BOINC never was and never will be designed to be a screen saver program that does calculations, or only does calculations when the screen saver runs.

Thanks for clarifying.
