hi everyone

myself is a heavy computer user, so probably in front of it all day. but sometimes i just think that BOINC manager doesn't give a flexible options to let users make plans to run the program more sufficiently.

sometimes i just use computer to browse, text processing and sort of light-resource tasks, so i would like BOINC to run almost fully just make my computer smooth enough to do these things.

but also is there a time i play games and other heavy-duty stuff like encoding a MPEG4 video clip.
this is when BOINC

i know that priority setting of windows is not very wise (at least in the case of BOINC). once i set the BOINC cpu permission to use 100% and set it LOW priority, the result is the computer became nearly unusable.

especially when the computer powered-on all night, BOINC however, was restrained to the limitation of cpu load and use only 50% when it can actually use 100%.

a good solution to this is that add a MODE scheme that one can select from the tray icon ? just like one of those IM software that could select if the user is now idle or busy or sleeping whatsoever.
then BOINC could make its best efficiency.

or other solution like better detections and more flexible options for idle mode.

thank you for you patience reading.

That shouldn't happen. BOINC is always in low priority, and I have never had it cause problems with the rest of the computer. Only exception was when BOINC apps + other apps used more than the total physical RAM I had.
