Is there a problem - for 2 days completed items have not transferred and when I try to transfer - they fail?

Do only the Seti results fail to upload? If yes, look at the Seti Forum. They have problems with their Server, but it is in work...

Hi All

I have been using seti@home classic for several years and switced to Boinc about two weeks ago.

For a few days all went well, now for about five days no transfers have occured. No up or downloads. My statistics have remained static.

Why? Can anyone tell me, please?

Many thanks

All good wishes

Tony

Yes - it is a SETI problem, addressed at the SETI boards. You can see there for more info.

Neither Einstein@Home nor SETI@Home will transfer data from or to my computing system. Einstein@Home's server-status web page shows all green, whereas SETI@Home's page shows mostly green.

This has been going on for about two days. I've tried updating both projects, to no avail; and I've even re-set them, which I hate to do, but that's produced no subsequent movement of data either.

If anyone reading this thread actually knows what's going on in respect to these communication failures, I for one would greatly appreciate their simply telling us what the problem is -- if they in fact know. Being told to visit other message boards isn't very helpful, at least not in my case.

Thank you!

Since you are getting errors on multiple projects, it could possibly be a BOINC problem - properly addressed here. To give an accurate answer, we will need some info from you. The easiest way to do this is to quit BOINC completely (file/exit) then relaunch - that will clear the messages tab. Then select one of the projects (I would recommend Einstein, as it has no known current problems) and hit "update". Then go to the messages tab, copy everything there, and paste it in here.

Background information - as has been said, SETI is not uploading work, unless you get very lucky. Downloads sometimes get "stuck" in "downloading" status. If you have such stuck downloads, they count as "present" to the scheduler. Simply hitting "suspend" on SETI in this case will remove that project from the calculation, and you should get Einstein work. But you say UPLOADS don't work to Einstein, which is very strange, and why we need the messages.

"Reset" is a last resort, and should only be used _after_ asking for advice. It not only trashes current work, but also the science application, support files, etc... adding to the load on the server and making it _less_ likely you'll successfully begin processing again.
