Boinc is telling me to free up disk space so it can continue with the projects. Communication is constantly deferred. The thing is, only the C: drive is low on space. Boinc is installed on G: which has about 108 GB free. There is approximately 350 GB of free disk space on my system over 6 disks, but Boinc seems to only want to use the boot drive. How, oh HOW can I point it to another disk where it will certainly be much happier???

If it was INSTALLED on G:\, then it will know about the free space on G:\
But you also have to tell it how much it's allowed to use, either on the project(s) web site (in prefs), or in the Manager's prefs.

And if you're running version 6 and used the defaults, then the programs and data will be in 2 separate parts, with the default location of the data section being on the C:\ drive. Click the Advanced button on the installer to get to where you can choose the locations.

More on this in the sticky at the top of this section of the forum, labelled: Service install = Protected Application Execution mode

Well, my first problem is that I am still running Boinc 5.10. It's installed on the G drive along with its data files and there is over 100GB of free space there, so I'm still at a loss. I'll try upgrading to ver 6 and see if that helps things out.

In all of the installers of BOINC you could define what path to install it on. The default is at C:\Program Files\BOINC, but I can tell you that mine hasn't been there in ages.

With 5.10 you could also split the data from the BOINC directory... manually. If you want to test that, see this FAQ.
