Ageless/Jord often refers to the faq service at mundayweb. Well, I just installed the newest 2009 edition of Norton Internet Security. It included something new, some kind of beta websafe product that scans/scanned various websites and through AI(?) has concluded that mundayweb is malicious and unsafe. When I try to go to mundayweb it blocks my access though I can override it. Here is a link to one of the reports. At the bottom of the webpage is reference to a direct link to a threat. I don't know what to make of this exactly but I know it is annoying to have the munday website blocked. Maybe Munday can remove the referenced link and avoid the website's nefarious status?

The mentioned report displays a snapshot of the http://mundayweb.com/. I've searched through the displayed page's cource and have not found any direct reference to "http://www.frigger.de/scherz/badday.exe". Maybe some indirect link there, which gets forwarded? I've not tried that deep.

Nor the BOINC FAQ Service page's source contained the offensive link, although there is a Google ads banner at the top, which might occasionally contain such link. But note that this is not the same page, that is presented in your report. Regardless of the FAQ page, selected in the Norton's upper right "is this site safe?" input line, it always displays just the top-level http://mundayweb.com/.

I use Avast AV and it agrees with Norton, http://www.frigger.de/scherz/badday.exe is a threat.

I believe, but where on the BOINC FAQ pages does the link reside?

Hi,

I'm the owner and maintainer of http://www.mundayweb.com. Norton has got it wrong - my site does not link to http://www.frigger.de/scherz/badday.exe, though it does (did) host a copy of the exe in the downloads section of the site.

All the program does is to flip your desktop upside down - it is not a virus!

Anyhow, seeing as loads of people use Norton, I don't want them to be deterred from using my sites, so I have removed the file.

I have now created a Norton account so I can get them to change my site's rating as a result.

Thanks for letting me know Jord,

Neil.
