I am creating a ticket on Ubuntu Launchpad to request an upgrade from 6.2.12 to the latest BOINC client in their standard repos for the upcoming (and about to hit beta-freeze) version 8.10. I would like to post a concise change log, since 6.2.12, to provide a basis and justification. Unfortunately, the checkin_notes in the source are far too verbose and do not show which release the patch applies to. The changelog threads in the forum give no real information about the Linux version. And the trac ticket history is not really appropriate either.

Is there a concise change log format available for the Linux versions somewhere? Or even a list of highlighted bug fixes would be useful.

Thanks,
Steve Bergman

In a word, no.

The check-ins are often cross platform unless specifically noted. The best you're going to get is the thread we keep here.

This information comes directly from Rom's emails to the alpha list for each release.

Additionally the Change log is summarized on the BOINC Trac Wiki's [trac]wiki:VersionHistory[/trac] page (available also in plain text format at the bottom of the page).

Whoa! I didn't even realize folks had started to get that up to date. Cool. I didn't suggest it because I didn't think it had been updated in a year or so.

I was pleasantly surprised too, when I've noticed the new changes a week ago. It's still being actively tampered with :-)
