It seems that for some reason most of my uploads are failing and retrying after a set time. There is an error code 500 after the unit that is trying to be uploaded. Other units have uploaded fine but only in the beginning.

You don't say which project you're trying to upload to, but if it's SETI, there are internet problems on the U.S. West Coast that are making some server problems at UCB worse - basically, SETI is down, and probably will be (or very slow) for a couple of days.

Other projects are (mostly) working fine, so if you aren't attached to a second project, this would be a good time to do so. Best thing to do on SETI is "nothing" - BOINC will handle the necessary retries and all for you. If you check the SETI pages tomorrow and everyone else is back up and working and you are still having problems, then you can start to be concerned.

If you successfully attach to another project, the next thing you could do would be to set SETI to "no new work", and when your current seti workunits are completed, set SETI to "suspend" until you see that their problems have cleared. Doing this will have almost no effect on the overload there, but at least YOU will know that you've done everything possible on your end to alleviate their problem by ceasing to "hammer" their server with requests that it cannot presently handle.
