Ok, so I've got two NVIDIA GTX280s and they are OpenGL 2.1. That's two separate cards (a separate RAMDAC for each monitor).

Why can't I have BOINC display different project screensavers on each monitor?

Because BOINC doesn't work that way. It'll show the screen savers of the two projects in sequence. A couple of minutes for the one, then a couple of minutes for the other, etc.

Ok, so then my install must be buggy since many times in the "Tasks" tab more than one project's "Show graphics" button is enabled and I can run these projects' graphics simultaneously.

It must be, because as soon as you move the mouse, the screen saver should go away...

If you are only talking about the graphics window, then that's normal behaviour. You can open multiple instances of any graphics window, for as far as the project has graphics.

If you want to move them to the different monitors, that should also be possible. It just won't work for the screen saver.

Yeah, that's what I was talking about. It's the graphics that I can open for multiple projects. If that can be done, why can't it be done with the screensavers?

In that stickied post above, you say:

"The graphics and screen savers are in OpenGL 1.0, which by default does not do multiple screens from one video card. Well, it can do it, if your video card has a RAMDAC for each VGA outlet."

Well, I have a RAMDAC for each VGA outlet (two separate video cards) and in my other PC a NVIDIA 9800GX2 (two RAMDACs for each output on one card) and in both PCs I can't get the BOINC screensaver (for one or multiple applications) to run on both monitors simultaneously.

Because as I told you earlier, the screen saver portion of BOINC isn't built that way. It's programmed to show the projects in sequence.

There's only one option under your screen savers in Windows to choose from: BOINC.
Not each project separately. If it were, you'd be able to use something like Ultramon, which allows you to choose which screen saver to show on which monitor (but for if you have a Matrox card...). yet since your only choice is BOINC, there is no possibility for it.

You should update your locked thread up top then to say it can't be done at all, even if you meet this:

"Well, it can do it, if your video card has a RAMDAC for each VGA outlet."

"Well, it can do it, if your video card has a RAMDAC for each VGA outlet."

I've updated it, yet the part you quoted is taken out of context. OpenGL 1.0 cannot do multiple monitors unless you use multiple video cards or RAMDACs. The "it" portion points to OpenGL, not to BOINC.

The graphics and screen savers are in OpenGL 1.0, which by default does not support multiple screens from one video card. Well, it can do it, if your video card has a RAMDAC for each VGA outlet.
