When I upgraded my ancient W98 PC to 5.2.13, it moaned that the following DLLs were not found; after I installed them it ran OK. Why are these DLLs required on W98, when they don't appear to be needed on other versions of Windows? libeay32.dll ("contains encryption functions which allow for coded communications over networks") libcurl.dll ("a highly portable and easy-to-use client-side URL transfer library - MIT") |

Why are these DLLs required on W98, when they don't appear to be needed on other versions of Windows? It's actually more a matter of everything _since_ Win98 including them already. In fact, even on Win98, the libcurl at any rate is so much the "standard" now for network connectivity, it's surprising you didn't already have it, from some other program. The other one, I have no idea, but I assume is in there for the HTTPS code that was added. |

Why are these DLLs required on W98, when they don't appear to be needed on other versions of Windows? That is because Win9x was not designed to be nearly as network-ready as later versions. Bill, do you have a few clones of yourself working alongside you? LOL "The arc of history is long, but it bends toward Justice" |
