I do run the graphics, and on the new agent, the screen was blinking. If this turns out to be a bug, and if it gets fixed, the news should be put in the RSS feed so that those of us who use the feed will be notified. >>RSM http://sciencesprings.wordpress.com http://facebook.com/sciencesprings |

I do run the graphics, and on the new agent, the screen was blinking. I'm having a similar problem, if by blinking you mean the project graphics rapidly flash on intermittently with the "BOINC" logo and the words "BOINC is currently suspended." It's very distracting and I'd love to know how to fix it. I should say that I'm running this on a iMac Intel and I didn't have this problem with previous versions. Patrick |

Hi- I saw a bit of that; but ultimately it was a screen saver flashing. I went back to 5.10.45 for the moment. I just don't think that kind of thing is good for the monitor. >>RSM http://sciencesprings.wordpress.com http://facebook.com/sciencesprings |
Mitch, are all your screen drivers up to snuff? So far with all the testing, the only anomalous I've had with 6.2 is that extra blank window when looking at WCG graphics. Now that has disappeared and the last WCG sub-project is being beta-tested this minute using the BOINC 6 API and shows perfect under 6.2.14. cheapirish As for that "BOINC currently Suspended" message, you might wanna check if the client is actually crunching as the BOINC screensaver is dependent on that. ciao
Hey Sek- I will have to check. I had trouble in the past with the video driver on this machine, I'll check with nVidia. Thanks. >>RSM http://sciencesprings.wordpress.com http://facebook.com/sciencesprings |

Here's what I'm showing in my messages tab for today. Is there another way to check on whether the client is crunching? Do you use CPU throttling? If you do, that bug is fixed in 6.2.15. |

In my naivete, I would have to ask, if the graphics are all running fine, WCG and all BOINC projects, in 5.10.45, and with 6.X just out, and subject to the vagueries of all sorts of individual computer if's and but's, why suspect the video drivers? I am sure that there will still be kinks to work out for a couple of months. Going up I full version number should be a big deal. >>RSM http://sciencesprings.wordpress.com http://facebook.com/sciencesprings |

I'm experiencing the same problem. Vista Ultimate 64, installed as protected mode, i.e. boinc runs as limited user. When the screensaver starts it shows WCG for a second, flashes to the BOINC logo (with computation suspended message), and switches like so back and forth - very annoying. I'm running SETI@home (64 bit optimized), WCG and Cosmology@home. Hardware is a Q9450@stock speed, GeForce 9800GTX w. the latest drivers from NVidia. OS is updated with all the latest patches from MS. I previously ran BOINC 5 without any issues (apart from the annoying not autostarting bit..) |

Same problems. Running NVIDIA graphics, Win XP, flashes between "BOINC is suspended" and the graphics. |

People, this is known and a fix will be in BOINC 6.2.15 which is being tested by the alpha crew at this moment. Or you can download it if you cannot wait. Do NOT download 6.3.6, that is only tested by people from GPUGrid, to test the GPU/co-processor addition of the code. |

Thanks so much, relieved. Again, I request put it into the RSS feed for BOINC News when the fix is accomplished. >>RSM http://sciencesprings.wordpress.com http://facebook.com/sciencesprings |
