Recently a new mail list has been created to inform to suscribers for new updates of BOINC.
Thats a good new, but I think this work may be done by BOINC manager and change color of task bar icon. This allow users informed for new updates with no nead to suscribe to any mail list.

Possible color set for icon tas is:
brown : up to date (as current used)
green : new version ready
yellow : version is 2 or 3 updates old.
red : version is 4+ updates old

Also when manager is open on title bar may be shown current version and then new one if it exist.

Other possible enhancement is on Statistics tab.
On left panel may add one button for each project suscribed and one more to restore to default display.
When one of this buttons is clicked all right panel will used to display its graphic.
