Is it possible to use multiple intermediate uploads without knowing in advance how many will be produced? I am not sure what the result template file should be for this.
Or would trickle messages be better suited to this problem?

Output files can be marked "optional".

See the intermediate upload documentation (that badly needs expanding).

What if potentially the app produces hundreds or thousands of intermediate uploads, do I need to have an optional template for each of these?
