Hi,
I get this message, when boinc is not properly installed and all *.exe files are missing. Installator try to run boincmgr.exe file, but don't succeed.

Usually this happen to me when I'm downgrading to older version of boinc. (Versions 5.2.x don't works on my computer, so I everytime install newest version, try it, and finally have to downgrade back to boinc 4.71)

Easy solution for me is to run installator once more, choose "Repair" after this is finished, boinc is working.

Good luck,
Spok

Hi,

Same error here :

Windows XP SP2 with BOINC 4.43 installed and trying to install version 5.2.13.

When I rerun the installer and I choose "repair", only version 4.43 is installed and I can't find version 5 !

"Repair" will only repair an existing version, it wou't upgrade. I suggest you uninstall the old version through the regular uninstall process without manually deleting anything in the folder, and then go through with installation of the new version, which currently is 5.2.13. (you might want to wait another day or so, though since 5.2.14 or 5.2.15 is imminent, correcting communication between Boinc modules during startup.)

Doubtful. We have en-mass dumped .14 ;)

Anyway, Internal Error xxxx is an Installshield or Windows Installer error. Make sure you are up to date on MSIExec.exe through Windows Update. The latest available version is 3.1

Jord,

Thank you for the info(s). Good thing I didn't steer anyone to the 5.2.14 link, then.
