Hi everyone! I have the BOINC client and BOINC manager installed in Ubuntu and I have it cranking away on some projects. I downloaded a skin I would prefer (I think the default one looks like something from 1997). What folder do I put the .xml and the other files in? |

* Create a directory 'skins' in your BOINC directory * Move the skin directory into 'skins' * In the Simple View, click Preferences * Select the skin you want from the drop-down box |

• Create a directory 'skins' in your BOINC directory Ah, there is the problem. The Ubuntu package gets files get kinda scattered on the system: configuration on /etc, binaries on /usr/bin, data files on /var/lib/boinc-client, so there isn't really a clear "BOINC directory". So, to original poster: If you used the Ubuntu package (installed with apt-get), skins are probably on /var/lib/boinc-client/skins. You should create that 'skins' directory if it doesn't exist, then create inside a directory with the skin name, and inside that put the files. The XML would end up in /var/lib/boinc-client/skins/whatever/skin.xml. |
