After spending a frustrating few days trying to get BOINC to run, yesterday i thought i'd cracked it. After rebooting the PC, it now appears that all the work the programme had completed, has gone, and i've nothing credited. I'm at a loss for words, this just beats me. I have 5 PCs on a small home network, each one chuntering away with the clasic version. There has to be a way to make this boinc thing easier, because i'm very tempted to give up... Andy |

Sorry about that. There are still a few classic applications around - climateprediction has one - but you have a much better range of choices and ultimately more control over what your machines are doing, if you can get BOINC to work. At this stage I'd suggest choosing one project and concentrate on getting that running across your network. After that everything should be child's play. As you have had a problem with one project, though, it might be worth trying another just in case there is something about the application that is causing problems. The thing that is going wrong is probably quite simple. If you go to the questions and answers section of your chosen project (there are usually more people around on those boards) then ask people to talk you through the process. Quote any messages in BOINC Manager so that people know where you are up to. You'll get there in the end. |

Have you activated your acct and linked Classic with Boinc? If so check the accts page and you will see the credits noted. We all start at ZERO for Boinc..... BOINC Wiki |

Andy, The no-credit status could be simply a matter of a quorum not having been formed for that workunit yet. (edit for clarity) "The arc of history is long, but it bends toward Justice" |
