Each time I start my computer I get an alert asking if I want BOINC to allow incoming connections. Is there a way to disable this; it's annoying.

I've already selected this permission for BOINC in the Firewall section of my system preferences.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

It's the BOINC core client that wants to listen on the remote control port for incoming commands from the BOINC manager or the command line control tool.

So you need to allow listening for incoming connects for the core client, not for the manager.

If you're running only one BOINC host, it should be sufficient to restrict incoming connects to 127.0.0.1 / local loopback / localhost.

I hope this helps a little, I cannot tell anything about specific Mac settings.

p.s.: I looked around a bit, in the firewall configuration it must work like this (or similar) :

Click the Set access for specific services and applications button.

Click the Add (+) button (beneath the large white rectangle).

A dialog to select an application appears. Find the BOINC core client, and click Add.
