After updating from 4.45 version, not only did the new version not recognize my existing projects but also would not let me re-attach to them.
I'm always prompted for a proxy/socks server. Since I'm using my home systems, I do not go through a proxy server.
I'm sure there's a simple explanation/resolution/workaround for this situation.
Can anyone help?
In the meantime, I've reverted to the older version which works just fine.

Many thanks.
Cheers ... Peter

That dialog box pops up if it can't communicate with the host within 3 seconds (which IMHO is way too short a time). The "fixes" are to reboot, which will clear out any issues on your end, or just to "keep trying", especially if the projects are overloaded, as they _all_ are right now, with the influx of new users...

If neither of those things works, hopefully one of our networking gurus will come along and help.

However... something may have gone wrong with the installation. I (and many others) installed right over the top of 4.4.5 and it just picked up right where it left off. If you uninstalled first however, that could have actually _caused_ the problem - uninstalling is only necessary for versions prior to 4.4, probably something like 4.1.9.

Thanks so much for the information.
Yes, 3 seconds is pretty brief. A more appropriate error message would be appreciated.
I did install over the older version. None of the projects which I subscribe to showed up in the list.

I'll give it another try.

I think I have it...
On startup there was a message indicating an invalid password - this, I wrongly assumed, was not the password for the project(s).
Looking at the status bar in the lower right-hand corner, it indicated "Disconnected". So, I tried File -> Select computer. The resulting dialog was somewhat puzzling - a host name and a password. A password without a user ID was unusual ... could it be the signed-on user? Well, no.
Finally, in frustration, I left the fields blank and hit the OK button. It now connected to localhost!
Then the active projects appeared.

All seems fine now.

Cheers ... Peter
