As there is no outbox, it would be nice to have an option to receive a copy of the outgoing PM by email.

You can send a copy to your self by adding a comma and then your own ID number.
The forums here allow multiple PMs to be sent at the same time.

Still don't know if that's a feature or a bug. But since I like it, I'm not reporting it. ;-)

I think that causes a possible "security" bug. Let me use you as test subject.

um ... that would be a solution if I had the same ID in all projects so I would ... one day ... have it memorized.

A post-it note on the monitor, or a little black book?

It doesn't work on all projects. The only other one I know where it works is Cosmo. And as Nicolas just found out, it doesn't work to send the same message 24 times to the same person. I only got it once. ;-)

They've got colour coded sticky tape for that, you know? Or writable tape, just mark them with their name. :-)

The solution would be to have some [CC: to myself] checkbox in the "To" row (and a possibility to have it checked by default per own forum settings), or similarly named button, which would add my user ID (known to the forum SW (if the server can't remember my unique ID, it can maybe stick it on my avatar or on my row in DB, as it likes :)) to the list of recipients. Off course, not more than 24 times the same ID, as we already know, that this number is not (yet, Rytis?) supported :-D

The one thing that works everywhere is to send a PM on nickname. As long as it is unique. You could try that after the comma.

Really? Actually I've never suggested "sending a copy of PM by email" ;-)

It was rather a hint, how to implement it, in order to keep it as PM and still not being forced to compile a list of my IDs on a post-it note :-)
(I use a notebook and the tiny paper would get lost for sure.)

(BTW, you created the thread as from my mind, I just wanted to do the same today.)

Well, that's the point: As long as it is unique. Try to be e.g. Pepo or Ageless or even Nicolas (not PovAddict in this example) - which one will get it copied? Each one or noone (because of 'more than 24 recipients'? ;-) or will I get warned and get the possibility to modify the recipient list (just like as when I type in an unknown recipient name). forum_pm.php is missing the detailed info or some warning.

I fear trying it, otherwise I could be sued for spamming all Pepo's to ....... 7 years of Misfit punishment.

As far as I know, if the username isn't unique, the PM doesn't get sent.

Tell them all there can only be one and to come to an (abandoned) factory nearby so you lob their heads off. ;-)

Seems to be true, although the (incomplete) response (on Seti) suggests something diffeent: Could not find user with username Pepo

With Priority: Minor and Milestone: Undetermined... it is still at least a known feature request.
Thanks, Rytis, for knowing about it :-)

Until then, we have to fill in the post-it notes with own IDs :-)
(Or what about defining UserID == 0 or -1 as myself, for the "CC: to myself" PM? Or if forum_pm.php would display my own ID somewhere around...)
