hi guys remember me ? you had me change version, update drivers, talk to boinc specialist via skype .. I am now using 5.10.26 (10.20 was not better for me) and I am still not displaying any graphs for SETI or ClimatePred or Einsten (which is down ?) .. only thing I show when the screensaver kicks off is a ugly ;) BOINC screen with statistics on project progress .... I want my fancy Seti columns back .. or the crazy Climate Earth or the reverse milky way from Einstein .. thanks |

Grrrrrrrrrrrr (database is being slow...) I can't remember if we asked before (and the forums are too touchy to actually search) if you're using a password on resume. And remind us what OS. Kathryn :o) |

yes, slow DB hi Kath so we meet again :) OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600 LENOVO t60/System Model 8741W3Y ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 Yes DISPLAY 8.383.1.1000 6/21/2007 OpenGL Version 6.14.10.6479 (this is the latest openGL driver !!) yes, password on resume. funky thing still to me, is that when a task is running and I click show graphics it DOES display a graphic.. but then when the screensaver kicks in it goes to the default (?) boinc logo and text stats on the current running task. is there a display graphic hidden parameter that I have inadvertently turned off in my profile maybe ?????? cheers (thanks for picking up) |

So we do meet again. Did anyone ask you to try (temporarily) not using the password on the screen saver? I know that I've seen reports of that being an issue. Kathryn :o) |

damn it Kate .. it worked .. this is either a good or a really bad news ! good news : it's rather easy to reproduce ? someone should be able to do that and fix this silly bug ? bad news : in my paranoid corporate world, I am REQUIRED to have a password on resume for my screensaver .. what's your feeling ? (not on the corporate world, on the bug :) |

Well, at least it got figured out. My opinion on fixing the bug? You're looking at an English teacher with a developmental psych degree. I can tell you about how babies learn or the meaning of a word. I know next to nothing about programming. And my 3 line shell scripts don't count for much. I know it's a long standing bug. And I know it doesn't bite everyone. I can use a password on my XP Pro box all I want, and it's fine. It might be something that version 6 will solve... I can't guarantee it though. Kathryn :o) |

If you install as a service you will not have problems with the password on resume. However the ATI drivers tend not to work properly until you log in (again) so you probably will not be able to run the screensaver. BOINC WIKI BOINCing since 2002/12/8 |

Kate thank you, I appreciate your help. your students are lucky :) I'll wait for an upgrade which will magically fix that. I'll not go down the service path. cheers |
