Link below I'm in the same boat you are in. I try to set up Seti, enter the seti URL and select use current account, enter my e-mail and my seti password and it keeps saying no such account. I'm frustrated too. |

Help says to give the account key and the master prohect URL while connecting to a project. But the dialog asks only for the Master URL, not the account key. Later on, the connect failed and in the log messages appears 24.11.2005 09:53:56||Fetching config info from http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/get_project_config.php 24.11.2005 09:53:58||Missing account key 24.11.2005 09:54:18|http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/|Master file download succeeded 24.11.2005 09:54:18|http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/|Sending scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi 24.11.2005 09:54:18|http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/|Reason: Requested by user 24.11.2005 09:54:18|http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/|Requesting 8640 seconds of new work 24.11.2005 09:54:20|http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/|Scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi failed with a return value of 500 24.11.2005 09:54:20|http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/|No schedulers responded 24.11.2005 09:54:20|http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/|Couldn't connect to URL http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/.Please check URL. 24.11.2005 09:54:20|http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/|Resetting project 24.11.2005 09:54:20||request_reschedule_cpus: exit_tasks 24.11.2005 09:54:20|http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/|Detaching from project Somebody has an idea? Help says to give the account key and the master prohect URL while connecting to a project. When I see error number 500 ... you have probably the same problem as me. Are you connected through proxy server which requires authorization? I was told version 5.2.x use some standard libraries for work with proxies. Older version (4.x) used it's own to code for this work. There is probably some problem with standard libraries or BOINC don't use them correctly. For example on my computer I have to use version 4.71 to be able to connect to projects. When I use version 5.2.x, I get error 500 everytime. Try to download and install BOINC version 4.71. You can find it here: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/ If you have already installed BOINC 5.2.x, you have to install version 4.71 two times. I don't know why, but after first installation there are no *.exe files installed. During second installation just choose Repair and continue. Maybe you will need to reset your computer after second installation. Good luck ;-] Spok |

I've set up Boinc 5.2.8 and tried to enter a project (Seti@home). I can enter the project address (http://setiathome.berkeley.edu) ... then the software communicates with the project server ... and then there is a form called proxy configuration where I can enter http proxy or socks proxy data. What proxy data? I don't use a proxy server. What am I supposed to enter here? this isn't documented anywhere (or I couldn't find it). When I leave the form empty and press continue, the form reappears. I can't log in to this project! What is this, user friendliness? -Michael |

If the client cannot connect right away it automatically takes you to the proxy set up screen. The problem is that the site is too congested right now so there are many false positives. Try rebooting your computer and hope for a clear patch of internet. BOINC WIKI BOINCing since 2002/12/8 |

After many tries what worked for me is as follows: Go to File, Select Computer. Don't fill in anything to "Host Name" and "Password", just click ok. Boinc connects on Local Host(can be seen on the lower right hand side of the window). Then "Attach to Project" works without asking for the proxy. Ilgaz |

Get it from the download page. Kathryn Kathryn :o) |
